“Happy New Year”

Dear Friends,

             Welcome to the new year, 2009. My hope and prayer for each of you is that God will bless your year with happiness, goodness, and joy.

            After the mess of the last week before Christmas vacation, I hope our start to this new year will go well. Students know that we will be progressing at a pace that will be picked-up. Vacation is over…the school year revs up!

For the week of January 5th:

Monday (5)– School resumes at regular time; -- We will exchange our Christmas gifts sometime in the afternoon; -- Faculty meeting, 3:30;

Tuesday (6) – “Epiphany”; --

Wednesday (7)– Chapel is at 8:25 am. Join us and begin your day with worship and prayer; -

Thursday (8)

Friday (9)

Other Dates to Remember:

1.                  January 5 - December’s book report is due

2.                  January 13 – Assembly program, “Physics Is Fun”

3.                  January 19 – No School MLK Day

4.                  January 23 – End of 2nd quarter

5.                  January 26 – No School – Teacher work day

            And so we begin the 2009 part of our 2008-2009 school year. Your 8th graders have 99 days of school remaining at Zion. But we have so much to do in those 99 days. We will have LEST, yearbook, class trip planning, and lots and lots of homework. Be a part of your child’s final days at Zion. High school will open up a whole new world to them, soon. Have a great 2009, and make some memories for and with your children!
